Patricia graduated from the University of Canberra with a Bachelor of Arts (Professional Writing) majoring in journalism and fiction writing. She went on to study Teaching English as a Second or Foreign Language at the Institute of Languages, University of NSW.

With 20 years' experience in writing, editing, training and human resource consultancy for the government and private sectors, Patricia is passionate about words.

Recent projects include writing advertorials (Fitness First); editing plain English research briefs and abstracts (Crawford School of Economics and Government, ANU); editing a plain English technical report on energy efficiency ratings (Department of the Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts); editing an exhibition book (National Gallery of Australia); writing a history of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, and plain English heavy vehicle regulations (Roads and Traffic Authority); and editing a procedure manual (Concord Hospital).

Patricia has had both non-fiction and fiction published in a number of publications.
